Carroll’s Auto Sales is the oldest car dealer in Presque Isle. Skippy Carroll first established it in 1957, on the corner of Jordan and Main Streets (now JP Cash Market). The dealership has been relocated several times throughout its lifetime. At first, Skippy sold all kinds of used cars and trucks. A few years later, he purchased the Brewer Chevrolet franchise and facilities in 1961. That was on the corner of Main and Park Streets. In 1962, Skippy decided that he wanted to expand the business. He purchased the Sam Etscovitz garage on South Main Street. After buying this, he sold the lot on Jordan Street to Percy Pelkey.
